Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Your privacy and health are a trust. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it and your rights.

1. Data we collect

• Account: name, phone, city, address, optional email, account type; for pharmacies: pharmacy name and licence number.
• Orders: items, quantities, prices, payment method, notes, status and delivery history.
• Sensitive health data: prescription images and health notes, handled with the highest confidentiality.
• Payments: transaction reference, status and amount. We do not store card numbers or codes.
• Technical: device type, IP address, login logs, terms-acceptance records.
• Camera & photos: used only when you choose (barcode scanning, prescription photo).

2. Why we use it

To fulfil and deliver orders, have prescriptions reviewed by an authorised pharmacist, contact you about your order, prevent fraud, meet legal and accounting duties, and improve the service. We never sell your data.

3. Who sees it

Authorised Areeb staff according to their role (only pharmacists see prescriptions); the Seller preparing your order (its items, order number and city only); the driver (name, phone, address, amount to collect); payment gateways; and authorities when legally required.

4. Security

Passwords are hashed, connections protected, prescription images kept in private storage, access role-restricted and logged. No method is 100% secure; we will inform you of any incident affecting your data.

5. Retention

Account data while active; orders, invoices and prescriptions as long as Libyan health and accounting rules require (at least 5 years for financial records), then deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Access, correction, and account deletion from the app (Account → Delete account) or the "Delete account" page; records we must legally keep are retained in anonymised form.

7. Children

Not directed at under-18s except through a guardian.
